Niagara Gazette — The Niagara University women’s basketball program unveiled plans Friday for four summer girls basketball camps, one of which will be held across the border, while the others will be held at the Gallagher Center on the Niagara campus.
First up is the Kendra Faustin Girls Basketball Camp, which will begins Monday July 28 and continues until Friday, August 1. The camp will be open to girls entering grades 3 through 8. In addition to practices to work on basketball fundamentals including dribbling, passing and shooting, the camp will include fun-oriented activities including scavenger hunts with the NU players and coaches, pool time at Niagara’s Kiernan Center and movies.
The next scheduled camp, the Niagara Team Camp, runs August 1 through 3 and caters to players on girls high school and AAU-level teams. This camp will include stays on campus and is intended to give the participants a taste of life as a NCAA Division I student-athlete.
The Elite Camp will be held August 23 and will give participants a more well-rounded Division I experience including training in guard/post breakdowns, scrimmages and contests. Off-court activity will feature scouting report sessions and film breakdowns with coaches as well as a campus tour.
The fourth camp, the Ontario Elite Camp, will be held near Kitchener, Ontario at the Woodland Christian High School on August 24.
