High Schools: Wilson rallies to top Lew-Port in lacrosse

Adam Hoot tied a school-record with 18 strikeouts and went 4 for 5 with a home run and six RBIs for the Mustangs in their win over the Lakemen.

Grand Island 14, Lockport 3

Quinn Corrao and Brendan Sheehan each batted in three runs and Mark Montes allowed just five hits and three earned runs to help the Vikings (4-2, 3-2 NFL) defeat the Lions.


Niagara Falls 13, Lockport 5

Carli Leo recorded 10 strikeouts and gave up only three hits and Toni Polk went 4 for 5 at the plate to lead the Wolverines (3-1) past the Lions.

Wilson 16, Medina 6

Tayler Dezole recorded 10 strikeouts and went 2 for 4 at the plate with a double and an RBI, and Jen Darlak went 4 for 4 with two RBIs to lead the Lakewomen (3-0) past the Mustangs.

Lew-Port 9, Grand Island 3

Jenna Rhue had three hits and four RBIs, Bailey Stayner added three hits and two RBIs and Vicky Waugaman pitched a complete game while striking out seven and allowing only two hits for the Lancers (4-3, 2-3 NFL) in their defeat of the Vikings.

Nia.-Wheatfield 6, N, Tonawanda 3

Katie Mazierski went 2 for 3 and scored two runs and two stolen bases, Bri Krawczyk went 1 for 3 and batted in a run and Nikki Jacobs went 1 for 2 and batted in a run of her own to lift the Falcons (3-0 NFL) over the Lady Jacks (3-1).


Grand Island 4, Ken East 1

Eric Riederer, Wyatt Mock and Tommy Corrao won their singles matches for the Vikings (3-0) while Mike Paternostro and McClain Erhard picked up wins in doubles competition.


Wilson 5, Akron 0

Nathan Johnson, Dominic Curcione and Alex Keie each picked up wins for the Lakemen (4-1) in singles competition, while Gabe Curcione, Joe Hecko, Hannah Johnson and Kallie O’Lear won in doubles matches.
