Niagara Gazette — NU softball drops two at Youngstown St.

Niagara University softball was swept at Youngstown State, with the host Penguins winning both games, 6-0 and 3-2.

Niagara (13-27) was held to just two hits in the first game.

In the second game, Youngstown State (25-20) scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning on a passed ball.

Brittany Richberg and Chanelle Ward scored the Purple Eagles’ runs. 

Jennifer Sansano struck out five batters and allowed just two hits in four innings but did not get a decision.

Niagara hosts Monmouth tomorrow at noon, when they’ll honor their five seniors, and then hosts Rider on Sunday at 11 a.m.
