Bisons withstand late rally, win 6-5

Niagara Gazette — Bisons withstand late rally, win 6-5

The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, trailing 6-1 in the bottom of the ninth inning, gave the Buffalo Bisons a scare with a four-run rally but the Herd’s Chad Jenkins entered the game to end the comeback and earn a save, as Buffalo won by a 6-5 final.

It was Jenkins’ second save of the season. The Bisons improved to 10-9 on the season and snapped a three-game losing skid.

Anthony Gose’s triple in the top of the second produced three of the four Bisons runs that put Buffalo into an early lead.

Liam Hendricks picked up his third win of the season.

Buffalo and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre will finish their series tonight at 7:05 p.m. at PNC Park in Moosic, Pa.
