HS Roundup: N-W, L-P and GI win boys' swimming openers

Niagara-Wheatfield’s Nathan Erhmann won two individual events (100 Free and 100 Back), and swam on the winning 200 Medley Relay team to lead the Falcons to an opening meet victory over Niagara Falls Friday night, 93-83.

Dan Peltier won the 200 individual medley and the 100 breastroke, while swimming on two winning relay teams for N-W (1-0).

The Wolverines start out 0-1 on the season.

Lew-Port 102,North Tonawanda 81

Mitch Sembert led the way for the Lancers, taking first place in the 50 freestyle (23.67) and 100 backstroke (1:03.48), while swimming on the winning 200 medley and 400 free relay teams. Dave Broderick also won two individual events for L-P. Nick Mallone took first place in the 200 freestyle race with a 2:04.03 in a losing effort for the Lumberjacks (0-1).

Grand Island 92,Kenmore West 75

Jordan Piershalski took first place in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.38) and the 100 freestyle (53.05) and swam on the winning 200 medley relay team for the Vikings (1-0). Justin Sagasta dominated in the 200 and 500 freestyle races, swimming an NFL season best of 1:54.27 and 5:04.48, respectively for the Blue Devils (0-1).
