Canal Fest 4-miler set for today

Niagara Gazette —

In an effort to generate more runners and subsequently more money for the North Tonawanda and Tonawanda Boys and Girls Clubs, the Canal Fest "Tim Frank Memorial" 4-Miler was rescheduled to kick off Canal Fest week this morning at 10 a.m.

Race director Jeff Hardy said the move to Sunday made a lot of sense because more people will be able to compete. Last year, the event raised nearly $10,000 for charity and Hardy said he is hoping for more of the same this time around.

There will be a party at Crazy Jake's immediately following the race. Awards, music, hot dogs and beer will be served and Hardy encourages everyone and their families to come out and celebrate today.
