Niagara Gazette — P.J. Altiero edged Michael Boss in a playoff to win the 2014 club championship at Niagara Falls Country Club.
Altiero shot games of 73, 73 and 76 for a total of 222 while Boss recorded scores of 69, 74 and 79 to match the total and force the extra play.
Tracy Paonessa won in the women’s competition with scores of 86 and 89 for a total 175, while Fay Bailey shot 105 and 103 for a second-place 208.
Mario Violante won Class A (78-74-152) while Brian Hall (79-74-153) finished in second. Michael McDonald (85-79-164) won Class B while Bob Travis (83-86-169) and Chris Boron (82-87-169) shared second place in Class B. Mark Nicolette (92-98-190) claimed victory in Class C while Jim Attfield (95-103-198) finished in second. Sam Morreale (90-89-179) was the Class D winner with Dom Falsetti (93-90-183) placing second.

Laurie House was the overall winner with her score of 74, while Anne DesPres finished as runner-up with her score of 77.
Kathy Hess was the A Division winner at 78. Gloria Critelli won the B Division with an 80 and Sara Robins scored 94 to lead the C Division.
In the first week of medal play, Paula Zacher led A Division with a 36, followed by Hess with 39. Nancy Lo was the leader in low putts. Claudia Konecki and DesPres both scored 41 but Konecki won the tiebreaker to lead B Division. Rose Lantz was the leader in low putts. House led C Division with a 36 with Cathy Cronk following at 40. Marge Spoor was the low putts leader.
In week two of medal play, Lo led A Division with 37, followed by JoAnne McCartin at 39. Zacher led the division in low putts. In the B Division, Charleen Scime led with 36 while Nancy Colbert followed at 39. Konecki led in low putts. Judy Major led C Division with 40 while Cronk followed with a 43. Patty Jaruszewski was the division’s low putt leader.
