Niagara Gazette — Ryan Susice and Austin Susice of Ransomville were winners in their respective divisions in this week's races at Ransomville Speedway.
Ryan Susice captured his first win of the season in the FinditQuick.com Modified division. He took the lead in the ninth lap and held it to the 30th and final lap. After a restart on lap 27, Danny Johnson could not catch the leader but did come in second. Completing the top five finishers in the field were Erick Rudolph, Jeff McGinnis and Steve Schumacher.
Austin Susice claimed his second checkered flag of the year in the Gippster’s Collision 4 Banger division, taking the lead in lap four of 12 from Justin McKay and holding the lead from that point onward. Steve Matson finished in second, followed by Chris Leone, Ashley Harbison and Chad Lederhouse in the top five.
Akron's Jesse Cotriss captured his first win of the season in the Investors Services Sportsman division. The defending champion became the seventh winner of the division this season, taking the lead in the ninth lap. James Michael Friesen finished in second, followed by Scott George, Kevin Wills and Chris Burek. With the win, Cotriss gained precious points to cut the lead by current leader Greg Martin.
Brandon Sherwood of Sanborn became the Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stock division's first repeat winner this season, taking the lead from the opening green flag and holding for all 20 laps to the finish line. Mike Short finished in second, with Brian Lonneville edging Jaren Israel for third place. Following Israel's fourth place Chase Madison crossed to round out the top five.
Dan Heschke of Appleton won his first feature race in the Van Raine Construction Novice Sportsman division, taking the lead in the first lap and holding it to the finish. Jeremie Josephite, in his debut, finished in second. The rest of the top five finishers were, in order, Mike Martin, Steve Lewis Jr. and Chris Ketch.
