Eight qualify for Porter Cup

Niagara Gazette — Eight golfers passed the test this weekend, making score at the Porter Cup qualifier and earning a chance to compete for this year's Porter Cup at Niagara Falls Country Club.

Patrick Sheedy of East Amherst and Brookfield Country Club led the way with a 4-under 66 followed by Transit Valley and University of Hartford's Daniel Yustin and Kevin DeHuff of Pepperdine University, who both shot a 67.

Rounding out the qualifiers with a score of 68 were:

Joseph Kremer of York, Ontario and Eastern Michigan University; Ryan Celano of Naples, Florida and the University of Florida; Austin James of Bath, Ontario, Nicholas Ross of Dundas, Ontario and Oshawa, Ontario's James Krantz.

The 56th Porter Cup will be held July 22-26.
