Buffalo native Domonic Cook to sign with Bills

For the second straight year, a Buffalo native who played at the University at Buffalo is signing with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted rookie.

Domonic Cook, the St. Joe’s graduate who became a four-year starter in the defensive backfield at UB, confirmed via text message Monday night that he will be signing with the Bills on Tuesday.

Cook converted from cornerback to safety in his senior year at UB and was a first-team all-Mid-American Conference selection. He ranked sixth in the country with six interceptions. He also forced three fumbles. He finished his career with 36 passes defended, third-most in UB history.

Last year, Cook’s former high school and college teammate Naaman Roosevelt, signed with the Bills as an undrafted rookie. Roosevelt was among the final training camp cuts, but he was signed back to the practice squad and later promoted to the active roster for the final six games.
