NCCC softball splits doubleheader

Niagara Gazette — The Niagara County Community College softball team split its doubleheader Sunday against Tompkins Cortland Community College, hosted by NCCC.

The Thunderwolves won the first game, 9-8.  Bree Noworyta scored the game-winning RBI and went 3-for-5 at the plate.  Starting pitcher Kelly Bourque struck out eight in five innings, while Megan Murphy held TCCC hitless in two innings.

TCCC won the second game, 9-4.  Noworyta and Charlene Cinelli both stole two bases and scored two runs in the loss.

NCCC's record is now 5-5 and travels to Mercyhurst Northeast next Friday.
