Niagara Gazette — The Buffalo Bisons were held to just four hits, while the Toledo Mud Hens used two home runs to score half of their runs in Sunday’s 6-0 win over the Herd at Fifth Third Stadium in Toledo, Ohio.
Buffalo got in immediate trouble, walking leadoff hitter Avisail Garcia in the first inning. The next batter up, Jordan Lennerton, homered over the right field fence to give the host Mud Hens what proved to be the game-winning run. Ben Guez hit a solo homer in the fifth inning.
J.A. Happ, who surrendered both home runs, took the loss for the Bisons, giving him his first loss of the season in just two starts for the Herd.
The Bisons’ record fell to 54-53 with the loss. Buffalo and Toledo will conclude their series at Fifth Third Stadium tonight, with the opening pitch scheduled for 12 p.m.
Thad Weber, who has a 4-4 record as a Bison but an overall season record of 8-5, is scheduled to start on the mound for Buffalo.
