Men's League: St. Paul I 55, Community Bible 40
St. Paul I erased an early 14-4 lead by going on a 23—0 run on its way to a 55—40 victory over Community Bible in Round Four of the Lutheran Basketball Association Playoffs.
David Cooney led St. Paul I with 23 points, including 13 in the second half, and hitting nine of 12 foul shots. Dan Smith added 17 points for St. Paul I. Kyle Seabert led Community Bible with 17 points including five three-pointers, while Austin Crossley added 12 points.
St. Paul I, with an overall record of 15—6, is one of three teams still in contention for the men's league title, along with St. Matthew / St. John (15—5) and St. Mark (14—6). St. Paul I will face St. Mark in Round Five next week.
Women's League: Community Bible 51, St. Paul 22
Katie Rowland led Community Bible with 20 points, while Jen Schepis led St. Paul with eight points.
Women's League: Chapel 45, St. Matthew 36
Rachel Martin scored 21 points while Adnrea Musznski added 12 as Chapel defeated St. Matthew in women's basketball. Leanne Gedraitis led St. Matthew's scorers with 16 points.
Women's League: St. Mary's 54, St. Mark's 44, overtime
St. Mary's shut out their opponents in the extra session, going on a 10—0 run and defeating St. Mark's 54—44 in overtime. Amanda Baron led the victors in scoring with 25 points. Patrina Leo added 12 points for St. Mary's while Martha Amoretti scored 11 points. Hannah Crouch led St. Mark's with 12 points, with Liz Williams contributing 11 points.
Women's League: Holy Ghost / St. James 42, Teachers 35
Kelsey Walck's 14 points led Holy Ghost / St. James in their victory over Teachers. Also scoring for the victors was Sara Poreda, who recorded 10 points. Julie Murray led Teachers with 14 points, which included four three-pointers.
