Rain washes out Ransomville races

Niagara Gazette — Rain forced officials at Ransomville Speedway to cancel Friday's scheduled race card.

The speedway will have a busy schedule next week, with three days of races beginning Tuesday, July 2. A full card is scheduled that night with its usual four divisions plus an Open Wheel Pit Crew competition. Regular admission will be charged.

The following night, Wednesday, July 3 Ransomville Speedway will host its fourth annual Battle at the Border featuring twin DIRTcar SDS events, including a 75-lap 358 Modified DIRTcar series race with $5,000 in prize money at stake. A fireworks show will follow. Gates will open early at 4:30 p.m. with races beginning at 7 p.m.

A full race card will then be held on Friday, July 5. More information on the races and admission prices is available on the track's website, or at 791-3602.
