Niagara Gazette — Niagara basketball will be broadcast a half dozen times on the ESPN family of networks during the 2013-14 season, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced Friday.

The men’s team will be broadcast four times, beginning with their game at Fairfield on January 16 at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN3.

The women will be broadcast on ESPN3 when they face Canisius February 7 and travel to MAAC newcomers Monmouth on Feb. 22.

The men’s Feb. 14 game against Canisius will also be covered by ESPN, either on its ESPNU or ESPN3 channel, as part of its Rivalry Week promotion.  The other scheduled broadcasts involving Niagara are at Siena on Jan. 30 and at Marist on Feb. 1, both on ESPN3.

MAAC officials added that there is a possibility for more coverage, with five Friday games in Jan. and Feb. designated as “wild cards” with two games scheduled each night.

ESPN will also televise the 2014 MAAC Tournament in Springfield, Mass. starting on March 8. All of the men’s quarterfinal and semifinal games will be on ESPN3 and the championship will be on either ESPN or ESPN2. The women’s semifinals will air on ESPN3 while the championship game will be covered by ESPNU.
