Niagara Gazette — • Helen Voljak was the Flight A winner of the week in the Thursday Ladies' 18-Hole Golf Club at Hyde Park. Voljak shot a 78. Mary Ann Storr and Sonia Miller both shot a 71 to win in Flight B and Flight C, respectively. In the weekly tournament, which last week was themed "Best Poker Hand" sponsored by Gadawski's, Darlene Adams, Marilyn Burak and Dorothy Gara were the Flight A, B and C winners, respectively. In low putts, Mamie Volpe led Flight A with her score of 30. Storr, Burak and Jean Rosenberg shared the lead in Flight B with scores of 33. Marion Doktor and Marie Esposito also shared a score of 33 to tie as the weekly winners in Flight C.

BOCCE

• The team sponsored by Latina's Imports leads the Cristoforo Colombo ladies' division with 148 overall points, but the Dan the Man team holds first place by virtue of its overall record of 10-2. Latina's, with a record of 9-3, shares second place through last week's competition with Marketside Restaurant. Four teams are tied with records of 8-4: Guido's Upholstering, ACS Animal Care Supplements, Capitol Cleaners and All That Jazz Hair Salon & Spa. Sitting alone in eighth place in a league of 20 is Cataract Lodge at 7-5, while seven teams were behind and tied at records of 5-7.

• Bowl O Drome remains undefeated in the Cristoforo Colombo mixed division, holding a 9-0 record and an overall point total of 108 heading into this week. Trailing by just one point and a record of 8-1 is Supermarket Liquors, with Over The Falls Tours in third place with a similar 8-1 record but point total of 97. Fortuna's Restaurant sits in fourth place out of 20 with a record of 7-2 and 98 points, while Falls Auto Spring (6-3, 97 points) rounds out the division's top five.

TENNIS

The team of Niagara Catholic (Will Whisker and Spencer Ventresca) defeated Niagara University (Pete Butera and John Lorenz), 6-4, 6-3 in the Les Nassoiy Tennis League. BMP America (Joe Lebold and Sam Lebold) defeated Synacor (Nick Fuest and Matt Bergey) in two sets, 6-2, 6-2. Sammy's (Les Sniezek and Joel Costanzo) won by forfeit.
