AREA ROUNDUP: Jr. Thunderwolves explode at Darien Lake tourney

Niagara Gazette — WOMEN'S SOCCER

• The Empire Revs finished off a strong weekend of play with a 3-1 victory over Yankee Lady FC (Connecticut). After falling behind in the first minute to a goal by Shawnique Samuels, who will be attending Niagara University in the fall, the Revs dominated play for the remainder of the half. The payoff came late on a goal from Bri Smith (Canisius) to tie the game at the half. The second half saw more of the same with the Revs having much of the possession. Goals from Alexandra Rohloff (St. John Fisher) and Molly Curry (St. Bonaventure) secured the victory. The Revs are now 4-1 in the Mid-Atlantic Division of the Women’s Premier Soccer League and travel to Yankee Lady and Westchester FC for a pair of road matches next weekend.
