Niagara Gazette — Purple Eagles edge Siena in women’s lax

Niagara University edged Siena in women’s lacrosse Wednesday, 9-8, with Brittany Delano scoring the game-winner for the Purple Eagles.

Her goal came with 8:05 remaining in the second half, set up by Kayla Smith. The go-ahead goal was the first time in the game Niagara took the lead.

Carrie-Jo Farrigua netted four goals for Niagara, whose record improved to 2-3 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and 6-7 overall. Siena fell to 1-4 in the MAAC and 3-11 overall.

Freshman goalkeeper Andrea Francisco made four saves to get the win.

The Purple Eagles travel to Manhattan to face the Jaspers on Saturday at 5 p.m.
