Local Bowling: Two roll 800 series in same league at Rapids

Niagara Gazette — Two participants in the Scotty’s Barbershop league at Rapids Bowling Center recorded 800-plus series on the same night.

They were Bobby Vitagliano and Jon Flint, who rolled series of 825 and 803, respectively.

Those 800 series came in a week that included numerous 300 games that came in four local bowling centers. 

Two of the 300 games were firsts for those who rolled them, both happening at Bowl-O-Drome. Tom Anthony got his first in the Sunday Night Mixed league while Chris Favorite got his in the Red Bull 5-Man league. Shawn Harvey also rolled a perfect game at Bowl-O-Dome in the Zajac Funeral Home league.

Also rolling 300 games were Brian Brink (Labatt Men’s, Island Lanes), Andrea Lofstrand (Macri’s Italian Grille 3-Man, Lewiston Event Center), Jason Cramer (Accurate Alignment, Rapids Bowling Center) and Paul Biondi (Accurate Alignment, Rapids Bowling Center).

Also earning honorable mention is Mary Haick, who carries a 99 average at the age of 94. In the Tuesday morning ladies league at Bowl-O-Drome, she rolled games of 144, 112 and 124 for a 380 series.
