Third win sets precedent for NCCC women's lacrosse

Niagara Gazette — In its fifth season, Niagara County Community College women’s lacrosse is setting a program precedent.

April Martinez (N. Tonawanda) scored seven goals with two assists and goalie Brianna Becker (Nia.-Wheatfield) made 17 saves to give the Thunderwolves (3-4) their third win this season, a 17-12 decision over Erie Community College, besting a program high set a year ago.

Kristine Ripson (Lew-Port) added four goals and an assist in the win, Lexi Zugay (N. Tonawanda) scored three times with four assists and Sarah Quast (Lockport) also had three goals.

With four games remaining, the Thunderwolves next play Jefferson on Saturday. Three more wins could mean NCCC’s first-ever postseason berth.
