Local Bowling: Two straight 300s and two 800-plus series highlight week.

Niagara Gazette — It’s not too rare to see a 300 game in any given week around Niagara Falls area bowling alleys, but this past Wednesday a bowler at Bowl-O-Drome rolled two perfect games in a row.

It was Jerry Carroll who accomplished the feat, doing so in the Zajac Funeral Home league. Boosted by his back-to-back 300s, Carroll finished his evening with an impressive 854 series.

Ted Ackley also rolled a 300 at Bowl-O-Drome, doing so in the Mr. Ventry’s Pizza league.

Over at Island Lanes, Mike Johnson rolled an 830 series that included a 297 game in the A-Best Roofing league, while Bill Gerfin came close to perfection with his 298 score. In the Labatt Men’s league at the same facility, Mike Leto rolled his first-ever 300 game.

In other action at Island Lanes, Judy Arida rolled a 234 — 109 pins above her average — in the Wednesday night mixed fun league.

Also earning special mention is Bob Kendzia, whose 203 game included some unusual splits, a 4-9 and a 2-8-10, in the Wednesday Business & Professionals league, at Bowl-O-Drome.
