Niagara Gazette — Having outgrown its previous venue, the annual Mr./Ms. Buffalo Championships has migrated to Niagara Falls.
The National Physique Committee-sanctioned show will be held today at Niagara Falls Conference Center, with pre-judging starting at 1:30 p.m. and the main show scheduled for 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Last year’s event sold out the University at Buffalo’s Center for the Performing Arts.
The 2014 Mr./Ms. Buffalo Championships will be the first major bodybuilding show held in the Cataract City since the 1995 Niagara Falls Pro Invitational.
Among the more than 100 competitors in the field will be 35 clients of Niagara Falls-based Primerano Training, including heavyweight favorite Jermaine Rose, a former Niagara Falls High School and Buffalo State football standout who won the natural Muscle Association-sanctioned Mr. Olympus Championship in October.
Ron Primerano won the Mr. Buffalo championship in 2011 and his brother, Rick Primerano, won the title in 2012. Last year’s Mr. Buffalo was Gary Larson, while Brittany Boldt won the Ms. Buffalo title.
