Local Bowling: Conklin gets first-ever 800 series

Niagara Gazette — Jeff Conklin rolled his first-ever 800 series in local bowling, recording an 804 in the Mr. Ventry’s Pizza league at Bowl-O-Drome. he rolled games of 265, 260 and 279 to achieve the feat.

It was one of two 800 series reported in the past week. Bob Yamonaco rolled an 804 series in the American Legion #1142 league at Rapids Bowling Center.

Two local bowlers rolled 300 games. John Leszcack had a perfect game as part of his 798 series in the Felicetti Concrete 3-Man league at Bowl-O-Drome while Tom Morton achieved the feat in the Walsh/Wilson Retired Men’s league at Rapids.

A couple of youngsters had big weeks. Nine-year-old Cameron Shelton rolled a 202, his first-ever 200 game, in the Junior Mixed league at Bowl-O-Drome. In the Prep Mixed league, Benjamin Bodkin rolled his first-ever turkey and finished 139 pins over his series average.

Also noteworthy was Sam Baiera’s round in Monday Seniors at Bowl-O-Drome, in which Baiera’s 420 series was 90 pins over average.
