Local youth ball: Hyde Park & Cayuga leagues

Niagara Gazette — It's been a good month for the Bucky's Barber Shop Yankees, who have gone unbeaten so far in the Hyde Park Babe Ruth baseball league Majors division. On Tuesday, the Yankees downed the Porky's White Sox, 15-9. Quran Dubois homered and hit a triple, driving in a total three runs. Dubois was also the winning pitcher. Cameron Reed pitched for the White Sox and struck out seven Yankee batters.

Previously, the Yankees defeated the Cardinals, 9-1, during which Dubois hit a grand slam. Trevon McDugauld had two hits, while Anthony Sullivan was the winning pitcher. Nate Papernik recorded a base hit and a run for the Cardinals.

The Yankees also defeated the Tops Tigers, 10-2. Jaden Turner threw eight strikeouts for the Tigers, while Ben Graham and Ryan Bower both scored runs.

The Tigers also won in recent days, defeating the White Sox, 14-8. Turner was the winning pitcher in that game, with John Blevins driving in three runs on two hits. Eric Nichols and Nakhi Perry both hit home runs for the White Sox.

Hyde Park Minors

Goodfellas Pizzeria Yankees won twice in recent days, defeating the Felicetti Concrete A's, 14-1, and the Cardamone Chiropractic Nationals, 18-5. Damon Dougherty hit twice, including a home run, against the A's. Ethan Schmal also got two hits for the Yankees in that game. Schmal also got four hits against the Nationals, while Dougherty struck out ten batters. For the Nationals, Antwain Gandy hit a triple.

Cayuga Softball

The Davids Home of The Steak Hoagy Padres topped the Niagara Falls Teachers Union Royals, 11-7, on Tuesday night. Marissa Lewis led the way for the Padres with a single and two RBIs while Jordan Brooks & Amanda Klettke added singles. For the Royals, Jordan Smith singled twice while Haley Perri & Brianna Iusi recorded base hits.

Cayuga Rookie Division Baseball

The Buzzy's Pizzeria Yankees and A-Plus Moving Services White Sox played to an 11-11 draw.  For the Yankees, Austin Zimmerman went 3 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs. Also going 3 for 3 for the Yankees were Joseph Ciarolo, Dakota Lansberry and Carlo Magadino.

For the White Sox, Isiah Welch, Davian LaComb and Chaleb Miller went 3 for 3 at the plate, with Welch and Miller recording two RBIs apiece.
