Jessica Flamm scored 14 points to lead the Purple Eagles in the season-opening road win. Meghan McGuinness and Kelly Van Leeuwen each had 11 points and seven rebounds.

"We were fortunate to come away with the win," coach Kendra Faustin said. "We struggled against the 1-3-1 scheme but a big performance from Jess Flamm and Kelly Van Leeuwen making big free throws got us over the edges."

Niagara hosts St. Bonaventure in its home opener Monday night.

Cuyahoga 56, NCCC 46

Kristine Ripson (Lew-Port) had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Jessica Curry (Wilson) had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Thunderwolves (1-2) who committed 35 turnovers in the game.
