Niagara Gazette —  The finalists in the 23rd annual Tri-City Masters Tournament will gather this Sunday at Bowl-O-Drome in Niagara Falls.

The participants were determined in a six-game qualifying round last weekend. Joe Burgio's 1344 score set the pace for the field of 24 finalists. Mark Doel earned the final spot by defeating Rob Samborek in a roll-off, 257-244.

The top prize at the tournament will be $1,000 from a total prize fund of $4,750 generated by 62 bowlers from the Niagara Falls, Tonawandas and Lockport USBC associations.

The top eight scorers, 1269 and above earned a bye for the first round of match play. The tournament begins at 11 a.m. and is open to the public.
