Bisons get 14 hits in 11-6 win

Niagara Gazette — BUFFALO — The weather was warm and sunny in downtown Buffalo, while the Bisons' bats were hot as the hosting Herd got hit after hit on their way to an 11-6 victory over the Charlotte Knights at Coca-Cola Field.

Seven Buffalo players got hits in Sunday afternoon's offensive burst. Buffalo native Jim Negrych went 3 for 5, scoring three runs and batting in two more. Ryan Langerhans blasted his eighth home run of the season while Luis Jiminez drove home three runs on two hits.

Todd Redmond got the start on the mound for Buffalo but had a shaky outing, giving up five runs on six hits in less than four innings of work. The following pitcher, Chad Beck, got the win, his first of the season.

Buffalo and Charlotte continue their series at Coca-Cola Field tonight, beginning at 7:05 p.m.
