Allison Block pitched a complete game and added two hits and two runs scored for the Spartans (16-2, 9-2 ECIC II).
"We got out to a comfortable 3-0 lead," said Starpoint coach Joe Hill. "We got out of big jams at the end of the game."
Brianna Clark contributed two hits and three RBIs to the offense.
Grand Island 14, Lew-Port 1
Alley Cutting and Melissa Gibson each hit home runs and Jillian Sheehan and Rosie Russel combined to give up just one earned run for the Vikings (9-2), who sit in second place in the NFL with a game against first-place Niagara Falls (9-1) on Wednesday.
Sheehan struck out four in five innings and was charged with the run. Russel came in with runners on in the sixth and faced only six batters in two innings pitched.
Jenna Neff, Ashley Colan and Natalie Argy each finished 2 for 3 from the plate.
Niagara Falls 5, Nia.-Wheatfield 4
Jerri Ann Orfano hit a late two-run bomb and Jasmine Petrishin added two RBIs and a double for the Wolverines (9-1), who remained in first place in the NFL. Petrishin and N-W freshman Marissa Hayes both pitched complete games, with Katie Mazierski and Bri Krawczyk driving in runs for the Falcons.
Niagara Catholic 6, O'Hara 5
The Patriots (7-2, 3-2 MMA) were rewarded for two lengthy plate appearances from Christina Schulte and Leah McClain when they scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh.
"Both teams battled throughout the game back and forth," said Niagara Catholic coach Robert Costanzo. "Both teams played great defense, but we didn't put heads down."
Tylerlynn Langer threw a complete game for Niagara Catholic while going 2 for 3 with two doubles. Marissa Ruffolo finished 3 for 4 with two RBIs.
Fran Gariano pitched a complete game for O'Hara.
