Niagara Gazette — ROCHESTER - Marty Brown is now the winningest manager in the history of the modern-era Buffalo Bisons.
With Buffalo's 5-3 win over the Rochester Red Wings at Frontier Field on Sunday, Brown earned his 254th victory as the Bisons' manager, passing Brian Graham.
The Bisons set another modern-era mark with their 16th victory of the season —it's their most wins in the month of April.
Buffalo built a 5-1 lead by the fifth inning. Moises Sierra had RBI hits in the first and third innings, while Ryan Langerhans homered in the fifth. Anthony Gose drove in a run before scoring one himself.
Edgar Gonzalez picked up his first win in a Bisons uniform, allowing three runs in 5.1 innings of work. While Rochester added two runs in the latter stages of the game, it was ultimately Buffalo's 10th straight game allowing three earned runs or less.
The win Sunday avenged a 1-0 loss to the host Red Wings on Saturday. Buffalo improved its record to 16-6, keeping them in first place in the International League's North Division. Ten of those wins have come on the road.
Buffalo and Rochester will face each other again tonight at Frontier Field, with the opening pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
