AREA ROUNDUP (July 23): Van Schaik Day set for Aug. 13

The sixth annual Carolyn Van Schaik Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Aug. 13 at Hyde Park Golf Course. The day has also been proclaimed Carolyn Van Schaik Day in the City of Niagara Falls by Mayor Paul Dyster.

A shotgun start to the outing, which was previously called the Main Street Business & Professional Association Golf Tournament, is scheduled for noon on the North 18 with a congeniality hour set for 5:30 p.m. and dinner to follow at Niagara University’s Clet Hall. The cost is $110 per golfer and includes golf, cart, lunch at the turn, golf shirt, congeniality hour, dinner and prizes. The cost is $90 for Hyde Park season pass holders. A two-year car lease compliments of David Chevrolet will also be available as a hole-in-one prize.

There are 120 spots available in the event, which benefits the continued revitilization of Main Street and Carolyn House. For more information or to register, call 285-1318.
