Beer stolen from trailer
A tractor-trailer driver reported a quantity of beer was stolen out of the trailer over the weekend while it was parked in the 6600 block of Ridge Road.
The driver for Pennsylvania-based Napa Transportation told the Niagara County Sheriff's Office that eight 30-packs of Coors Light beer were taken from the trailer.
The driver made the discovery just after midnight Monday when he was inspecting the trailer ahead of traveling and found the latch on the trailer door was broken. Upon entering the trailer, the driver saw the plastic wrap on a pallet of beer was torn and eight cases were missing.
• CHARGED: Nicholas J. Soto, 29, 445 16th St., Apt. 3, was charged with second-degree menacing about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, according to Falls police. Soto was charged after police were called to a 16th Street apartment building after it was reported Soto had threatened a woman with a gun. He was charged after an investigation and while he admitted to owning a BB gun, officers were unable to locate it. The victim said the incident started when Soto's cat ran into a neighboring tenant's apartment.
• INCIDENT: A 90th Street resident said two men with baseball bats smashed a window and a door shortly after noon on Sunday. The two men were apparently at the home looking for a missing wallet containing $500.
• CHARGED: Jason T. Dillar, 33, 6797 Walmore Road, Niagara Falls, was charged with DWI: Previous conviction, unlicensed operation and refusal to take a breath test about 2 a.m. Sunday, according to sheriff's deputies. Called to a gas station on Route 31 for a report of an argument, deputies stopped Dillar about a half mile away. He appeared intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. Dillar was charged but refused to take a breath test.
