Newfane

• GRAND LARCENY: A Saunders Settlement Road man reported that his Bobcat was stolen from a relative’s property on Dale Road sometime over the past three months, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said. The Bobcat was made in the 1970s, has a lot of rust on it and has an estimated worth of $4,000. The man said that only a few people know how to start the vehicle, including a relative who the man believes may have stolen the Bobcat to pay for a drug habit and legal fees. The case was referred to the Criminal Investigation Bureau.

• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A First Street man reported that the back window on his company’s excavator was smashed on Wilson-Burt Road sometime between April 11 and April 14, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said. The man didn’t report the incident at first because he didn’t want to claim the damage through insurance. Once the estimate of $2,200 came through, the man said he had to file a claim. The man was unsure who may have smashed the window, but believes kids may have been involved.

Pendleton

• TRESPASS: A man who said he was walking home from jail and who fit the description of a suspicious person was stopped around 1:50 p.m. Monday after he was seen walking out of the backyard of an Aikin Road address, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said. The man said he was walking home from jail and saw a vacant house. He stopped to check it out as he “flips” houses for a living. The man was transported to the sheriff’s office, where he was questioned and released.
