Niagara Falls

• THEFT: Police are investigating a reported theft from a pair of vehicles between midnight and 5 a.m. Friday outside a home in the 7500 block of Frontier Avenue. The victim, a 42-year-old man, said he arrived home from work and noticed two vehicles in his driveway had been gone through. One, unlocked, he said, was missing a black bag holding both a black Kindle Fire book reader and his wife's wedding ring, which he said she'd taken off helping their children trick-or-treating. The other vehicle, which he said was locked, was missing a Garmin global positioning system and a Kodak camera. The total value of the items was $3,118. Police report no sign of forced entry on either vehicle.

• ARREST: A Falls woman was arrested following a shoplifting incident at 7:30 p.m. Friday from a liquor store in the 8400 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard. Yvonne Thompson, 40, 263 83rd St., was charged with petit larceny after asset protection for the store told police Thompson was observed placing several items in her purse. Police were told she paid for two items at the register but not the items in her purse. She then tried to leave the store but was stopped and detained. She was issued an appearance ticket according to police, after she called her husband to have him pick up their 10-year-old daughter waiting in her vehicle at the scene. The value of the goods was listed at $18.34.

LOCKPORT

GRAND LARCENY: Niagara County Sheriff's deputies responded Saturday to a complaint of theft from Walmart on Transit Road. According to the report, two men entered the store Saturday night, one of whom took at least 32 items and fled out an emergency door. A Walmart employee believes the man actually took 68 ink cartridges with a total value of $2,820.26. The employee gave NCSO a copy of a video of the incident. This case will be turned over to Criminal Investigation Board for further investigation, the report said.
