BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 700 block of Eighth Street. A property manger told officers that sometime before 8:17 a.m. Monday someone broke into a home he was responsible for by unknown means. The victim said more than $3,000 worth of copper was taken.

• ARREST: An employee of a Pine Avenue business was arrested after she was caught stealing. Jamie L. Padilla, 26, 1722 Whitney Ave., was charged with two counts of petit larceny. She's accused of taking a gift card worth more than $500 and with pocketing $70 cash in another incident.

BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 1800 block of Niagara Street. A 22-year-old man told police that sometime between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday someone broke into his apartment by unknown means. The victim said a PlayStation 3 game system and 20 video games were taken.

• THEFT: Police are investigating a theft from a store in the 2100 block of Hyde Park Boulevard. A cashier told officers a man entered the store at 4:05 p.m. Monday and 10 minutes later attempted to walk out of the store with two bags filled with merchandise. The cashier said he tried to stop the suspect and began fighting with him. The suspect then pulled out a knife and threatened to "cut" the victim. The suspect was last seen running west down the 2400 block alley of Ontario Avenue. The entire incident was caught on tape by security cameras.

• MENACING: Officers are looking for a suspect after a home invasion in the 1500 block of Eighth Street. A 49-year-old woman said a man kicked in the door of her home at 6 p.m. Monday and then threatened to kill her and another person, while displaying a large knife. The suspect then fled from the home. The victims were not injured.

 BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 400 block of Seventh Street. A 47-year-old man told officers that sometime between 4 p.m. Sunday and 4:32 p.m. Monday someone broke into his "income property that has been vacant for two years" by prying a board off a window. The victim said an electrical box and $3,000 worth of copper pipe was taken.
