BLOTTER: Police reports published May 5

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a reported burglary which occurred between midnight and 2 p.m. Friday from a residence in the 600 block of 70th Street. The victim, a 27-year-old man, told officers someone forced open the rear door of the home and stole two 46-inch and one 32-inch televisions from the first floor living room, then took 15 pairs of sneakers, miscellaneous clothing items and a necklace from the bedroom. The total value of the property and damages is estimated at $8,400.

 
• ARREST: A Ransomville woman was arrested following a traffic incident between 10 and 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Pine Avenue. Amanda Krantz, 22, 340 Rindall Road, Ransomville, was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal possession of a hypodermic needle after she allegedly was walking east in the westbound lane of Pine Avenue, causing multiple vehicles to stop short of hitting her. Officers said while questioning her, a hypodermic needle fell from her right sleeve and a search of her person revealed a second in the same sleeve, with a substance in its syringe. After being taken into custody, police report a search of a purse belonging to Krantz revealed a third needle and three crack stems.

 
• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a reported burglary which occurred between 11:05 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday from the property of a 53-year-old man living in the 300 block of 75th Street. The victim said someone broke into his work van by popping the lock to the passenger side door and removed several battery-powered tools. He said entry was also gained to the garage and missing was a lawnmower, snowblower, power washer, planer table and chainsaw. He said the value of the items and damages total $6,200.

 
• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested following an incident which occurred at 4:52 a.m. Saturday at a hospital in the 500 block of 10th Street. William Huggins, 21, 902 80th St., was charged with trespass after he reportedly caused a disturbance in the waiting room of the hispital while his girlfriend was receiving treatment. He was reportedly asked to leave the premises and walked away. Officers report he returned 10 minutes later and was taken into custody, saying “I’m better off going to jail than sitting home alone.”

    Police are investigating a theft from a convenience store in the 2600 block of Niagara Street. A clerk told officers that four suspects, two males and two females, entered the store at 5:32 a.m. Wednesday and one of the women brought several items to the counter and paid for them with a New York state benefit card.

    A Ransomville man with alcohol-related convictions was charged with felony driving while intoxicated Sunday night, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office said.

    Police are investigating a burglary in the 2500 block of 29th Street. An agent with the CSX Railroad Security Department told officers that sometime between April 4 and noon Monday, someone forced open the door to a storage shed on his company’s property.
