UB police arrest suspect in gun incident

University at Buffalo police arrested a Cheektowaga man who allegedly displayed a handgun earlier this week in south campus’ Clark Hall.
Damon Erving, 23, of 72 Windwood Ave., was charged with second-degree menacing and unlawful possession of a weapon on school grounds after displaying what was likely a BB gun around 3 p.m. Monday in the Clark Hall gym.
Erving, who is not affiliated with the school, pulled out the BB gun during an argument while playing a game of pick-up basketball.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
Police said Erving, who has been banned from both UB campuses, is cooperating with authorities.
