Pink bag conceals modified shotgun
Three men were arrested Friday night after police found a modified shotgun concealed in a pink duffle bag in a car they were driving in.
Police were called about 11:15 p.m. Friday for a report of a fight.
By the time police arrived to the scene, the suspects had fled the area but they were later stopped on Ashley Place.
A Mossberg 500, 12-gauge shotgun, which had been shortened for concealment, was found in a pink duffel bag in the trunk. A plastic bag containing marijuana was also found in the car.
A witness identified the three suspects and said that Sheldon Allen had displayed the shotgun.
Sheldon W. Allen III, 20, 145 Lock St., Apt. 2; Shamir W. Allen, 18, 193 Washburn St., Apt. 3, and Dominque X. Pitts, 22, 62 Jackson St., Rochester, were charged with third-degree possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana.
The suspects were held without bail.
• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a reported burglary between 12:01 and 6:15 a.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of Niagara Street. The victim, a 27-year-old woman, said she fell asleep on the couch in her apartment alone and when she woke up, her purse left on a table was tampered with. she said $52 cash was missing from her wallet. She added a drawer from a jewelry box in her bedroom was also on the table and $6 in coins was missing. She told police her door was still locked in the morning when she woke up.
• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a reported burglary between 10:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 a.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of Grand Avenue. The victim, a 30-year-old woman, told police someone kicked down her door and took her rent money and a 12-pack of beer from her fridge. She said the money was missing but she thought it odd the money was the only thing taken until she opened her refrigerator and noticed the beer missing. There was no physical evidence at the scene, according to reports.
• ARREST: A Buffalo man was arrested following a public altercation between 10 and 10:22 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Old Falls and Third streets. Michael Becker, 48, 3420 Genesee St., Buffalo, was charged with disorderly conduct after he allegedly requested police take him to jail. Police were notified of the unwanted person by people waiting for the bus, who wanted the man to leave them alone. when they arrived at the scene, Becker reportedly smelled of alcohol and said he was having a conversation with "friends of his." When informed the next bus was right down the street and he should wait, Becker allegedly said "(Expletive) you, take me to jail."

• CHARGED: Sean P. Waldowski, 25, 6121 Tonawanda Creek Road, Apt. 22, was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to yield Saturday. According to the report, Waldowki was observed failing to stop at a yield sign on Tudor Lane at 1:58 a.m. He was stopped on Massachusetts Avenue. Waldowski had an odor of alcoholic beverage and failed field sobriety tests.
