• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested following a neighborly dispute at 11 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of Ashland Avenue. Dennis Townsend, 50, 1152 Ashland Ave., was charged with second-degree assault with a weapon, third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment after police say he hit a 49-year-old man in the head with a golf club. The victim said he went outside to help move a broken tree branch from an elderly neighbor’s property when Townsend approached him and asked him not to put the branch by his wife’s vehicle. The victim reportedly told him he wasn’t planning on it and the two went their separate ways. Later, while he was sitting on his porch, the victim said Townsend showed up and demanded he move the branch. When the victim reportedly refused, Townsend allegedly hit him with the golf club, breaking the victim’s glasses and causing a cut which, according to reports, required stitches to close.
