Motorcyclist taken by Mercy Flight after collision

A Lockport man was flown by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center after a car-motorcycle collision on Fisk Road Friday afternoon.

According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, around 5:25 p.m. a westbound vehicle driven by Sharon Linforth, 73, of Lancaster, tried turning into a driveway on Fisk Road and turned in front of an eastbound motorcycle driven by Richard Vanorder, 65, of Lockport.

Vanorder was taken by Mercy Flight to ECMC for treatment of arm and leg injuries. Linforth was taken by ambulance to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital for evaluation..

Linforth received a ticket for failure to yield the right of way.



Three injured in bar stabbing incident

Two of three people hurt in a stabbing incident at Lock 34 suffered serious injuries and were taken to Erie County Medical Center early Saturday morning.

Lockport police were called to the Main Street bar/restaurant at 2 a.m. and found three people stabbed and/or cut.

One of the victims was taken to Erie County Medical Center by Mercy Flight.

Another who was bleeding heavily was taken to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport by patrol car, then was transferred to ECMC.

The third victim, who fled the premises when police arrived, was located at a nearby residence and was taken to ENH, then transferred to ECMC, police said.

The matter is being investigated.


Niagara Falls

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a reported burglary from a trailer between 5:30 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday in the 6800 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard. A representative of the Ohio-based construction company victimized said someone gained access to the trailer, which was secured by a lock, and took both a generator and a ladder, as well as the lock. He told police the property is valued at $1,144 total.
