NIAGARA FALLS

• ARREST: Clifton Anton Brown, 46, of 5655 Niagara Falls Blvd., Apt. 14, was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault in the third degree and harassment in the second degree. According to police reports, officers on patrol in the 6800 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard were flagged down by a female who was “obviously in emotional distress” as she walked along the boulevard with Brown. The victim, described in reports as crying and having abrasions on the bridge of her nose, cheek and left corner of her mouth as well as a large contusion on the left side of her forehead, told police that Brown attacked her in the apartment they share after an argument over a text message she received on her phone. The victim said she received a text from a number she did not recognize and Brown accused her of having a secondary relationship with someone else and became angry. Reports indicated that the woman told police Brown became increasingly irate and pushed her to the bed and began to punch her repeatedly in the face. At one point, according to the victim, the suspect placed his hand over her mouth, restricting her breathing and causing her to become lightheaded. The victim told police that after she rolled on her side, the suspect retrieved a large candle in a glass container and slammed it against her back, breaking the glass, causing minor scratches to her back on the left side. Throughout the alleged assault, the victim said Brown repeatedly threatened to “kill” her.

• STOLEN VEHICLE: Police are investigating a report of the theft of two vehicles in the 1900 block of New Jersey Avenue. The victim told police that his vehicles were stolen sometime during the night of June 10 while they were parked inside a local garage waiting to be painted. Reports indicated that the victim later saw one of the vehicles, a 1974 Porsche, sitting at a local junkyard. The victim told police a representative from the yard told him that one of his other vehicle’s, a 1993 Toyota, had already been crushed prior to his arrival.
