AMHERST
Lockport woman dies in crash
A woman was killed after police say her car drifted over the center line and collided with another vehicle head-on on Millersport Highway in Amherst.
The accident happened around 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Amherst police say 27-year-old Mallory Greene of Lockport was heading northbound and drifted over the center line, colliding with a southbound vehicle. The driver in the second vehicle was listed in critical condition at ECMC.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary at a gas station in the 700 block of Niagara Street. The business owner told officers that sometime between 3 and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday someone broke into the gas station by smashing a side window. The owner said a cash register and a billing receipts holder were taken. Investigators said significant evidence was recovered at the crime scene.

 
• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 200 block of 67th Street. A 54-year-old woman told police that sometime between 5 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday someone broke into her shed by forcing open the lock. The victim said four Cadillac tires and rims and two bicycles were taken.

 
• ROBBERY: Police are investigating a robbery in the 1500 bock of Calumet Avenue. A 23-year-old man told officers he was coming home at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday when he was attacked by two suspects as he entered his apartment. During the struggle with the suspects, the victim said he was hit in the head with the “butt of a small handgun.” The victim said the suspects took some cash from his pockets and fled.

 
• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after he was observed brandishing a handgun on the porch of a home in the 400 block of Sixth Street. Anthony L. Hill Jr., 23, 2224 Michigan Ave., was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Police said they were called to a Sixth Street home at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday after a 911 call of a man on a porch with a gun. A male victim told officers he saw a man on his porch on his home surveillance camera system and the man had what looked like a black, semi-automatic handgun in his hand. Police, who viewed the surveillance video, found Hill a short time later at his home.

    Police are investigating a theft from a convenience store in the 2600 block of Niagara Street. A clerk told officers that four suspects, two males and two females, entered the store at 5:32 a.m. Wednesday and one of the women brought several items to the counter and paid for them with a New York state benefit card.

    Police are investigating a burglary in the 2500 block of 29th Street. An agent with the CSX Railroad Security Department told officers that sometime between April 4 and noon Monday, someone forced open the door to a storage shed on his company’s property.
