BLOTTER: Police reports published Sept. 22

— Niagara Falls

VANDALISM: Police are investigating a pair of incidents of vandalism in Packard Court. Two residents reported that between 10 p.m. Wednesday   and 10 a.m. Thursday, someone damaged their cars by throwing or pouring a corrosive liquid on their vehicles.


 BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 2400 block of Woodlawn Avenue. A 33-year-old man told police that sometime between Sept. 14 and 5 p.m. Thursday, someone broke into his garage through an open second story door. The victim said a large quantity of tools, a lawn mower, a set of golf clubs, a ladder, a leaf blower and three bikes were taken.


ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after he was caught burglarizing a business in the 800 block of Portage Road at 1:38 a.m. Friday. Michael Christopher Stewart, 45, 1124 Niagara Ave., lower, was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree grand larceny and possession of burglar tools. Police said Stewart pried off a rear door to the business and broke through a wall, before setting off a burglar alarm. He fled from the scene when police arrived, but was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.

A clerk told officers that four suspects, two males and two females, entered the store at 5:32 a.m. Wednesday and one of the women brought several items to the counter and paid for them with a New York state benefit card.
