BLOTTER: Police reports published Aug. 31

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after he assaulted his roommate. Ashley J. Torrey, 21, 6034 Frontier Ave., was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment. Torrey’s roommate told police they were arguing, around 11 a.m. Thursday, when he pushed him to the floor and hit him in the head with an unknown object. The victim said Torrey then repeatedly punched him in the face.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 1100 block of Niagara Avenue. A 55-year-old man told officers that sometime between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2:40 p.m. Thursday, someone entered his garage through an open window. The victim said 10 control valves, a quantity of copper fittings, a roll of shingles and six bundles of shingles were taken. 

• THEFT: Officers are looking into a truck break-in in the 100 block of Old Main Street. A 55-year-old man told police that sometime between 1 and 3:30 p.m. Thursday, someone broke into his 2004 GMC pick-up by smashing the rear passenger window. The victim said a culinary knife set was taken from the truck.
