BLOTTER: Police reports published March 3

Niagara Falls

• ARREST: A Maspeth man was arrested following an altercation at 1:15 a.m. Saturday at a hotel in the 300 block of Sixth Street. Darryl McGonnell, 25, 5332 65th Place, Maspeth, was charged with third-degree attempted assault after a security employee explained McGonnell was being removed from an attached bar when he made aggressive moves toward a female employee. Security said it was attempting to remove him when an altercation began and McGonnell struck security in the face, causing a bloodied lip. Officers report McGonnell was intoxicated in custody and uncooperative during the booking process.

Wheatfield

• INCIDENT: A 28-year-old Amherst man was ordered from his car at gunpoint on Saturday following an alert issued to area police. A Niagara County Sheriff’s deputy said Amherst police issued the alert Saturday morning, which stated the man was armed and suicidal, and the deputy spotted his car about 9 a.m. The deputy followed the man until additional police could arrive. He was pulled over near the entrance to Cayuga Village and deputies conducted a felony stop. Following the traffic stop it was learned the man had already contacted Amherst police and the matter had been cleared up. He was issued traffic tickets for insurance lapse and driving with an expired registration.

• INCIDENT: Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies were forced to stop resuscitation efforts on a 37-year-old Dorwood Park woman after her father presented them with a Do Not Resuscitate order on Saturday afternoon. The woman, a cancer patient, was picked up by a representative of Hospice. A coroner called in to the scene was cancelled once the Hospice official arrived.
