A 15-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday after deputies found he had homemade bombs.
The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office charged the unnamed teen with unlawful possession of a weapon by a person under the age of 16. The teen was issued an appearance ticket for family court.
No other details were given in a press release sent to the media on Thursday.
A source told Channel 4 News that the teen had removed powder from shotgun shells and put it into metal piping, the beginning stages of creating a pipe bomb. However, the pipe bomb did not have end caps on it when it was discovered by authorities.
• CHARGED: Jerry L. Young, 24, 622 Pine Ave., Apt. 3, was charged with petit larceny about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to Falls police. Staff at a store on the 1000 block of Pine Avenue told police Young took a $50 bottle of herbal detox drink into a store bathroom and drank it. The empty bottle was found in a trash can. Police said Young’s mother came to the store and paid for the item afterward.
• VANDALISM: Falls police were called to a home on the 2200 block of LaSalle Avenue Wednesday morning for a report of a vandalized car. A resident said overnight Tuesday, someone broke out all the windows of their ‘06 Pontiac Montana. In addition, white paint was thrown on the truck and an obscenity was written on the truck in the white paint. The victim told police she didn’t know who could be responsible.

• DWI: Matthew Pierce, 26, Bowmiller Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated by New York State Police on Wednesday. Police reported they received a disturbance call on Tonawanda Creek Road in Clarence. Troopers were told one of the people involved left the scene. Later, it was determined that was Pierce, who was found at a gas station on Plank and Rapids roads, troopers reported. No criminal violations were found regarding the disturbance but Bowmiller failed sobriety tests and police determined he was intoxicated. He had a blood alcohol level of .12 percent. Bowmiller was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Lockport court at a later date.
