Lost key returned a cause for concern

Niagara County Sheriff's deputies were called to a Willow Road home on Monday after the resident found a key to their residence left on a kitchen counter.

The resident said the distinctively marked key had been taken five years ago. The resident said two copies of the key were also left on the counter Monday.

The resident said it's likely the keys are related to stalking charges they placed against someone about five years ago. The resident said they have not seen or heard from the person in years though.

The deputy advised the resident on some basic security measures.

LOCKPORT

Suspicious person returns to Day Road

A Day Road resident report called police Tuesday after a woman he didn't know  turned up at his front door for the second time in a week.

The resident said on Tuesday the woman, described as a heavy set white woman in her '30s, asked if he had seen her last dog.

About a week ago, the resident said the same woman was at his front door asking if he was the one giving away kittens, though he had never been giving away kittens.

The woman denied Tuesday having been at the home before.

The resident said there were no cars in his driveway Tuesday and feels the woman was "casing" his home. On both occasions she left the area in a maroon Chevy Blazer but the resident couldn't see if anyone else was in the vehicle.

The resident was advised to call police if he sees the Chevy Blazer again.
