Online gun threat investigated

A North Park student was investigated by Lockport police and Lockport City School District officials after a threat involving bringing a gun to school was posted on a social media website.

Resource officers at the school took immediate action when notified of the situation, Capt. Richard Podgers, Lockport chief of detectives, said.

“It was a fairly minor incident that escalated,” he said.

The students involved were interviewed and students at North Park were sent home with a letter explaining the incident.
