BLOTTER: Police reports published July 5

Niagara Falls

• INCIDENT: Falls police were called to Hennepin Park on 82nd Street about 7 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a truck stuck in the mud. An arriving officer found a brown ‘97 Chevy Blazer stuck in the mud in the middle of the park with smoke coming from underneath the hood. Dylan R. Mitchell, 20, 3209 Niagara Ave., didn’t offer an explanation as to why he was driving through Hennepin Park, but he did cause about $300 damage to the grounds of the park. The truck was towed and he was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief.

• DAMAGE TO CAR: Falls police were called to the 500 block of Ninth Street where a resident reported damage to their ‘09 Chevy Malibu. The resident said he went out to the car Wednesday morning and found two holes in a rear window, causing it to crack. Officers said it wasn’t clear what caused the damage and no physical evidence could be found inside or around the car.

Wheatfield

• IDENTITY THEFT: An Errick Road woman called the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday after receiving two Discover credit cards in the mail — one for herself and the other for a Mississippi man. The woman said she called Discover who reported the Mississippi man had opened the account and used her as the primary account holder. The woman had no idea who that was and cancelled the cards. A deputy suggested she keep an eye on her credit report.

Wilson

• DWI: Diane L. Johnson, 49, 1 O’Connell Island, Wilson, was charged with DWI, moving from a lane unsafely and refusal to take a breath test about 2:40 a.m. Thursday, according to sheriff’s deputies. A deputy said he saw Johnson driving erratically on Cambria Wilson Road and eventually got her to pull over after more than a mile of following her with his patrol lights on. She appeared intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. She refused a chemical test after being charged.
