Niagara Falls

• ASSAULT: Police are investigating a reported assault of a woman at 8:30 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of 19th Street. The victim, a 43-year-old Sanborn woman, told police she was at the house of the mother of her ex-boyfriend when she got into an argument with the man's current girlfriend. She said the woman was upset at her for being a drunk and having AIDS. She said the woman walked up to her, punched her in the side of the face and left the scene, walking north on 19th Street and east on Pine Avenue. She described the woman as being in her late 20s, 5-foot-6, 150 lbs. Police said the victim was taken by Rural Metro to hospital for evaluation of her injuries.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a reported burglary between 6 p.m. Thursday, May 15 and 4:07 p.m. Friday from a house in the 1300 block of Michigan Avenue. The victim, a 52-year-old Sanborn man, said someone kicked in a basement window of a home he owned and took 250 feet of copper wire, a hot water tank and some gardening tools from the lowest level. He said the home has been vacant since the latest tenants left two weeks before he realized the theft occurred. The total value of the items taken was listed at $3,025.



• MARIJUANA: Franklin D. Johnson, 44, 1118 Ashland Ave., Niagara Falls, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and several equipment violations around 2 a.m. Friday, Lockport Police said. He was held on $250 bail and is due in Lockport City Court on June 2.
