Niagara Falls

• ARREST: A Falls woman was issued an appearance ticket after an alleged alcohol infraction at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the 2200 block of Niagara Street. Tammy Lynn Kathke, 44, 3244 Ely Ave., was charged with restricted use of alcohol in public after she was reportedly seen drinking a 24-ounce can of beer through a straw while standing on the sidewalk.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a reported theft from a residence between 7 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of Walnut Avenue. The victim, a 56-year-old man, told officers he arrived at a vacant residence he owned and noticed the side door unlocked and open. He said he entered the building and noticed several copper pipes cut and taken from the basement, including the pipe to the hot water tank. He said a copper faucet from a sink in the basement was also missing. In addition, he said, six sheets of gray and white marble was also missing, along with the work table they were stored on. He said he was last at the property at 7 p.m. Friday to show the building to a potential renter. According to reports, the victim estimated the property loss and damage to be about $3,700.

• DWI: Charles G. Maracle Jr., 32, 317 Portage Ave., Apt. 2, was charged with DWI and moving from a lane unsafely about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office. Maracle was stopped on Niagara Falls Boulevard near Military Road early Saturday morning after committing a traffic infraction. Maracle appeared intoxicated the deputy noted there was a Mike's Hard Lemonade (cranberry flavor) can in the cup holder. He failed field sobriety tests and registered a 0.10 percent on an Alcosensor. The report stated Maracle was convicted of DWI in 2007 as well.

• THEFT: Sheriff's deputies were called to Gluts Road about 6 p.m. Friday for a report of a theft. The resident told deputies his neighbor had called him to report a man in a blue Ford pickup had taken a dolly and driven off. The neighbor followed the pickup in his car to a Cain Road address. Deputies went to Cain Road and retrieved the dolly, charging the resident with petit larceny. It wasn't stated why the dolly was taken in the first place.
